Unveiling of the Suunto Connected Family with Ambit3
A complete package for anyone who wants to get the most out of their adventures and sports.
This September, Suunto is bringing out an entire family of new products: a new Suunto Movescount mobile App, the third generation of the popular Ambit GPS watches – the Suunto Ambit3 Peak and Suunto Ambit3 Sport, and a new Suunto Smart heart rate belt.
Comments President of Suunto, Mikko Moilanen: “These days most people practice more than one sport and prefer to have one multi-functional watch, rather than many different ones, for their activities. They also want to instantly share their adventures and sporting achievements with their friends. At the same time, a need for a more holistic understanding of well-being and recovery is emerging. We address these wants and needs of people with the Ambit3 connected family, and are delighted to now give the first glimpse of what we’ll soon be bringing out to the market.”
Complete package for sports and adventures with easy mobile connection
The new Ambit3 Connected family offers a complete package for anyone who wants to get the most out of their sports and adventures, whether running, cycling, triathlon, mountaineering or almost any other sport you can think of. It is Suunto’s first Bluetooth® Smart compatible product range, meaning you can sync, upload, share and relive your adventures on the go with the Ambit3 watches and the Suunto Movescount App.
Enrich, relive and share your adventures and sports moments
The Suunto Movescount App will bring new tools for enriching, sharing and re-living your adventures and sporting moments on the go – and in an inspirational way! The App benefits will also be available to all Ambit owners equipped with an iPhone or iPad, including those with the Ambit2 and the original Suunto Ambit.
Suunto Ambit3 Sport
The new Ambit3 Sport is the successor of the Ambit2 S. It is a GPS watch for multisport athletes that packs all the features needed for running, swimming, cycling and multisport training, and comes in four variants – premium White Sapphire, plus sportive blue, black and white editions.
Suunto Ambit3 Peak
The new flagship of the Suunto Ambit family is the Ambit3 Peak, the successor of the award-winning Suunto Ambit2. This is the watch for serious adventurers and athletes – packing advanced outdoor functions as well as specific features for running, swimming and cycling – and virtually any other sport.
Suunto Movescount App for iPhone
The new free Suunto Movescount App for iPhone will be at the heart of the Suunto Ambit3 connected family. As a stand-alone app it offers an easy way to get familiar with what Suunto can offer. Paired with the Ambit3 Peak and Ambit3 Sport watches it lets you sync, upload, re-live and share your sporting moments and adventures on the go. The app will be available for iPhone and iPad only. Availability of the Android version will be announced later.
Suunto Smart Sensor for accurate heart rate tracking
The new heart rate belt includes a new Suunto Smart Sensor and it will be the smallest Bluetooth® Smart compatible heart rate belt on the market. It will be included in the Ambit3 Peak and Ambit3 Sport HR versions, but the belt can also be purchased separately and used with the Suunto Movescount App or other Bluetooth® Smart compatible devices.
Suunto Ambit3 Sport and Ambit3 Peak, as well as the new Suunto Smart belt and the free Movescount App will be globally available from September 2014. More details on the products will be unveiled in August.
